🇷🇺🇨🇳 The Russian Trade Representative in China spoke about the practical aspects of working in the Chinese market
On July 9, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation to China Alexey Dakhnovsky spoke at the Institute of Asian and African Countries of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov with a lecture for representatives of Russian business and students.
The focus is on the current state of Russian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation, its promising directions and practical issues of Russian companies entering the Chinese market.
📢 During the lecture the following were discussed:
▶️dynamics and structure of bilateral trade; ▶️prospects for diversifying Russian exports and increasing the share of products with high added value; ▶️scientific, technical and industrial cooperation between Russia and China; ▶️the impact of the sanctions factor on payments and business relations; ▶️search and verification of Chinese manufacturers and partners; ▶️contractual, payment and logistics risks; ▶️features of introducing cosmetics and FMCG goods to the Chinese market; ▶️use of cross-border e-commerce; ▶️organization of contract manufacturing in China under its own brand. Alexey Dakhnovsky paid special attention to typical mistakes of Russian companies when working with Chinese counterparties. Reliable entry into the Chinese market requires preliminary verification of the partner, trademark protection, adaptation of products and packaging, development of payment terms, certification and logistics even before concluding a contract.
At the end of January–May 2026, Russian-Chinese trade turnover amounted to $109.5 billion, an increase of 22.9% compared to the same period last year. The next strategic task is to complement existing trade flows with new projects in industry, technology, processing and services.
