💡⚠Attention to participants in foreign economic activity
Recently, cases have become more frequent when companies and organizations use the symbols of the Russian Trade Representation in China without approval and refer to its support when preparing commercial events and resolving other issues for their own narrowly focused purposes.
One such example is the actions of Center for Regional Development LLC, which sent out an invitation to a wide range of addressees to take part in an event unknown to the Trade Representation, which is allegedly being prepared with the assistance of the representative office.
⁉What businesses need to know A trade mission is a government body operating on the basis of regulations approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. Its main task is to protect the foreign economic interests of our country and promote them in the host state. In its practical actions, the Trade Mission strictly adheres to the provisions of the governing documents that determine its status.
🔴Important Any mention of the Trade Representation as an organizer or partner of an event requires mandatory approval, which can only be obtained after a thorough analysis and detailed verification of the aspects set out in the initiator’s appeal.
🟡Highly recommend Be vigilant and carefully check information that contains references to support from Russian official bodies, but does not have corresponding confirmation.
🟢Please pay additional attention Cases have been recorded when Russian companies (most often consulting) operating in China, in order to give greater significance in the eyes of counterparties, use words and combinations in their names that are close or similar to the name of the Trade Representation and other official structures, as well as distorting the scale of their activities (for example, strategic, national, etc.). This state of affairs misleads many Chinese departments and companies (especially those who do not have sufficient experience in interacting with the Russian side), since the “sounding names” of the mentioned organizations do not correspond to their real status.
We recommend that you take the above aspects into account in your own activities, as well as draw the attention of your Chinese partners to them.
