⚡️🚗 BYD introduced the second generation of Blade Battery: charging an electric vehicle now takes minutes
According to BYD, the company has achieved new breakthroughs in the development of traction batteries for electric vehicles - the Chinese auto giant officially introduced Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging ultra-fast charging technology. The new product is designed to completely erase the line in convenience between electric cars and cars with an internal combustion engine.
✅ Main characteristics of Blade 2.0:
🔋 Record-breaking range: new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell architecture and increased energy density (up to 210 Wh/kg) allow electric vehicles to travel more than 1000 km on a single charge (CLTC cycle).
⏱️ Ultra-fast charging: The innovative system charges the battery from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, and up to 97% in 9 minutes.
❄️ Frost resistance: one of the main problems of electric transport has been solved. Even at -30°C, the battery can charge from 10% to 97% in 12 minutes.
🛡 Durability: The battery life is designed to last over 1.2 million km while maintaining the highest fire safety standards.
🔌 Infrastructure to match the technology: To support the new batteries, BYD is deploying a large-scale network of Flash Charging stations. By the end of 2026, it is planned to open 20 thousand such terminals in China. The stations will be equipped with special buffer storage units to produce enormous power without putting a critical load on city power grids.
The first models to receive the new battery will be flagships like the Yangwang U7 sedan and the Denza Z9GT liftback. The massive transition to Blade Battery 2.0 is expected to set a new technology standard for the entire global automotive industry.
