Women's entrepreneurship in our region is gaining strength, and high results at the federal level confirm this. Today, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation summed up the results of the fourth All-Russian competition "Leaders of Support. Women in Export", and the Smolensk region is among the winners. The competition, organized by the Russian Export Center with the support of the Federation Council, has been held annually since 2023. Its main goal is to identify and disseminate best regional practices for involving women in export activities, as well as to encourage small and medium-sized businesses that achieve success in foreign markets. This year, representatives from 66 regions took part in the competition, competing in the categories “Creative Involvement”, “Dynamics of Involvement in Export”, as well as in the special category “Women’s Contribution to Export”. The awards ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum Galina Karelova, Senior Vice-President of the REC Nikita Gusakov and Rector of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo Alexander Kim. Based on the results of the competition, our region took first place in the “Dynamics of Involvement in Export” nomination. In the special nomination "Women's Contribution to Export" the winner was Gagarin Cannery LLC. The Export Support Center of the Smolensk Region, with the support of the regional Ministry of Economic Development, has been occupying a leading position in the ranking of the Russian Export Center for several years. This is a clear indication of the effectiveness of our work in supporting regional exporters and the trust of business. In 2025, the volume of supported exports exceeded the annual target by more than 8 times, and the number of small and medium-sized enterprises that entered into export contracts by more than 5 times. The Center’s team helps Smolensk entrepreneurs master new tools, find partners abroad and confidently enter international markets. Thanks to this support, the number of exporting companies led by women is constantly growing, and supply volumes amount to hundreds of millions of dollars.
