⚡️ Rostec and Chinese investors are creating the first Russian-Chinese hydrogen transport corridor for cargo transportation
♦️ In 2026, RKDS member Rostec (GC) signed a memorandum with a consortium of Chinese investors on the implementation of the first cross-border hydrogen freight corridor between Russia and China.
▪️ The project provides for the creation of a network of hydrogen refueling infrastructure and localized hydrogen production along key transport routes, which will ensure the movement of freight vehicles using hydrogen fuel between the two countries.
▪️ As part of cooperation, the parties plan to develop technologies for the production of “blue” hydrogen from natural gas, as well as create a sustainable infrastructure for environmentally friendly cargo transportation.
▪️ The signed memorandum enshrines the key principles of cooperation and the roadmap for project implementation, including the possibility of creating a joint Russian-Chinese investment fund.
▪️ Particular attention is paid to the development of logistics in the Russian Far East, where hydrogen transport solutions can become an important element of cross-border transport.
🇨🇳 The introduction of hydrogen technologies will improve the environmental friendliness of freight transport, reduce costs on long-distance routes and expand technological interaction between Russian and Chinese partners.
